This Perl script allows you capture the headlines of freshmeat.net and display them on your Web page.

WebThief

WebThief is an extremely easy to use script intended for grabbing files and pages from World Wide Web via HTTP protocol. The WebThief works with httpget.lib library, which supplyed with this package. To receive data from the web, you shold specify just usual url address of file or web page.

Fetchnews

Operating similar to fetchmail, Fetchnews is a program setup to use the NNTP protocol to download USENET news posts. It is not meant to be part of any NNTP server or such, but to be used by users. Fetchnews requires perl and a number of Perl modules (included in the distribution).

This small script allows you to enter a web site's url in a text box and retrieve it's title. For example, entering "http://www.yahoo.com" fetch its title "Yahoo!". It requires LWP Perl module.
