Script Name Progress Report Manager When a student starts doing poorly in school - it is helpful to track their progress by asking teachers to report on behavior, classwork and homework on a weekly basis. In most schools, this is done using a paper-based system. A school counselor will hand the blank progress report to the student - telling him/her to give it to his/her teachers to complete. At the end of the week, the student gives the report to his/her parent to check how things went. In a perfect world, this piece of paper makes it from the student to each teacher and back to the parent. Usually, however, the process does not work as expected. Students lose things, especially those who are having trouble organizing their school work to begin with. In addition, it is hard for teachers to find the time to write something meaningful on the spot without some preparation to check their grade book and look at homework logs. I have seen many attempts to solve this problem, usually in the form of photocopying the progress report for each teacher and synthesizing them at the end of the week - a lot of busywork for a school administrator. To help solve the problem, I built Progress Report Manager. PRM simplifies the process by putting progress reports in a central database. Once a progress report is created, a school administrator can automatically send emails to the student's teachers asking them to complete the report. When the teacher receives the email, they can easily update the report when they have the time. At the end of the week, the school administrator can review the reports that were sent, see which ones were completed and send them to parents.
